No one region of Central America can be compared with Costa-Rica. More then 50 years ago this country gave up the idea of army and bet against the mountain rivers rafting, eruptive volcanoes, wild beaches and full of life tropical forests. Since then the wealth of nature becomes a trump card of this state and its main income source.
Costa-Rica is not a big country. Ten days here will be enough for a full adventure with rafting and mountain bike, hiking and canoeing. There are good places for surfing, diving, deepwater fishing and snorkeling. You can go with a low budget or seek the more exclusive resorts.
Rafting
Experienced raftsmen who are crazy about Rio River like bees about sweets swear that this river is the best and the most beautiful place in both of Americas. Everything is organized here very well, if you are a doubtful beginner you shortly become a fan of rafting, even you are an old bird, you find rough and dangerous rapids.
Sport Fishing
Costa-Rica has some of the best sport fishing in the world. The Pacific side has implausible fishing for sailfish, dorado, tuna, marlin, roosterfish, wahoo, snapper, and more. The Caribbean side and Northern regions are famous for big snook and big tarpon.
Ecotourism
Costa-Rica with it rainforest covering the mountains is an ideal tropical paradise for your eco holiday. You can enjoy the pristine beaches and see dolphins and whales play. For nature lovers there is a great variety of tropical plants and exotic wildlife. Orchids and butterflies, sharks and crocodiles, turtles and toucans´ are everywhere.
Horseback Riding
Mountain resorts and nature lodges located all over Costa-Rica offer horseback riding trips, going through tropical forests, pastures, or down the beaches. They are often stopping at waterfalls and lakes. Horseback riding tours are an excellent choice for bird watching and getting close to nature.
Golf
Because of its topography, weather, fauna and flora Costa-Rica is a golf paradise. There are about 3.000 people who practice golf and a lot of international first class fields such as Costa Rica Country Club, Valle del Sol, Royal Pacific, Los Defines, etc.
Hiking in the rainforest, mountain biking in the country side, horseback riding through picturesque trails, white water rafting in untamed and wild rivers, snorkeling through tropical reefs, sport fishing in cobalt blue waters, surfing the most incredible breaks, challenging golfing greens, kayaking, surfing this all is Costa-Rica. Its mild climate and varied landscapes make this small country the perfect getaway for a spectacular vacation.
