Paintball Snipers
March 19th, 2008Paintball & AirsoftSnipers exist in paintball, but they do not aspire to an excessive popularity… It helps them to take you unawares. If you have a patience, discipline and equipment to be a sniper, use all of this: you can see things which did not expect to see and hit players who did not expect to see you.
Investigation
If you do not know a war-game area, find a map. Find a starting point of your team, starting points of other teams and disposition of announced goals and important objects. Also look for noted routes… and never use them. Let others follow them. Make an ambush and set a trap for these players. Limited time, laziness and usual fear «I can be hit… » lead to that many players only very fluently look through received maps. But you should find all possible places for shelter. Note details which are not mentioned on a game map, for example villages or separate buildings. They are usually ignored, but they are fine strong points for your special missions. Note approaches to them and prepare your tactical retirement from each point.
Goals
Your ideal purposes are enemy commanders; if it impossible to get them, then the players who are leaders of groups. In many scripts additional points are charged for shooting of commanders, but even if there is no direct benefit from this, you will bring disorganization in actions of the opponent team. If you shoot “stars” and desperate players you leave the escaped part of enemy team frightened and disorganized, and that will give tactical advantage for your team.
Action Plans
Find out a plan of action of your command, but do not move with all team. Noisy groups draw attention. When your team take up a position, make sure there is no more than three people in your sniper group or operate alone. Move in parallel with your team in several metres if you plan to help them with mission performance. Or operate from ambushes in scenario games and your patience will be paid.
For shorter games it is possible to operate differently. Try to take enemy team on the flank or if it is possible try to gain the rear of the enemy team and attack. Most likely the line of fire will be on a straight line connecting the advanced players of both commands.
Very often players carefree concern about what is happening behind of them. In fact on logic behind should be only friendly team and possible way of deviation. So, if you are in your enemy rear, you receive a magnificent opportunity to bring devastation in numbers of the opponents, who consider that all of their enemies are before and there is nobody behind. When you start shooting, you either hit them in backs or they, having tried to be escaped from your fire, will be shot by your team. Such method perfectly works in all scenario games.
Tactics
Attack from rear, attack from flank, shoot at any part of the body, but as soon as you hit the first one, they can understand where you hide and begin hunting. Therefore choose the purposes carefully. If you cannot shoot down all thirty, concentrate on most important of them. Fire of three or four players will threaten your position but if you will use one ball for one player this will demoralize enemy team and will not unmask you strongly. Wait some minutes, and strike someone else.
Risk
Snipers always are latent threat and paintball players in general have lack of discipline to concern about the threat until they meet it. Thus, if you move, any player from any team can hit you.
All the more, if you work in enemy rear, it is a lot of chances to be hit by your own team. The most part of such balls will be crazy hits when the basic forces are firing, but if you will be noticed by someone from your team he or she will shoot you considering that there can be only enemies ahead. Thus you should hide from your team as well because you will be hit at first and then asked.
